Feature list for BlogEngine.NET 1.2

clock September 10, 2007 09:11 by author Team

The upcoming 1.2 version is getting closer and closer to release. It is almost feature complete and almost all bugs and issues have been fixed. Right now we are working very hard on completing the last features and make the code as stable, reliable and fast as possible. Then it goes out to translation among volunteers from the community and about a week later it will be released.

We still need to complete the last couple of features, but already now we know what will make it to the 1.2 release. So we thought we might as well share that information with anyone interested. See the complete BlogEngine.NET 1.2 feature list. If we missed something on the list, please let us know.

... doesn't show BlogML support...
it was the first item on the 1.2 Roadmap so just thought I'd check!

I did not find the support for multiple editors in the last build, will this be supported?
TinyMCE does not have an image browser/manager like FCKEditor, however, using FCKEditor and its browser with blogengine.net raises some issues I documented in the wiki at: www.dotnetblogengine.net/.../...r+integration.ashx

BlogML and multiple authors are supported. BlogML is listed under Import/Export in the list. Also multiple authors are on the list

The question was not multiple authors but multiple editors (FCKEditor, FTB...)

Similarly, will we be able to disable the WYSIWYG editor via an admin option?

@Mads: Actually, "Multiply authors" is in the feature list; wouldn't that be nice ... ;)  But, you're still right - under "Post Editor" it alludes to multiple editors. They aren't built in, but they can be used.

I think it is most useful to develop a multi-user-supported version.

ct, there is multi user support already. Each user can write posts and each user have their own RSS feed showing their posts only.

Realist, I'm sorry to hear that. It is an issue we have addressed in the upcoming 1.2 release. You will be able to specify URL separately from the title now and it wont break on russian characters anymore either

How far away is 1.2?, I can't wait.

BlogEngine.NET is just what I was looking for. Installed changeset 4468 this weekend on http://slyngelstat.dk, and it works great.

Thank you! Smile

Salam Mads,
When are you going to release BlogEngine.NET 1.2 ???
It's September 23rd and about two weeks past this post's date. Smile
By the way, release 1.1 was brilliant and I'm impatiently for new releases.
Thanks

You said in discussion forums there was going to be a "read more" functionality, i.e. part of the posts are shown with a "read more" text below them and when clicked on "read more" shows the whole post.

This is missing in the feature list. Is it going to be in 1.2?

Engin Uysal
