Translators needed for next release

21. September 2007 by Team 27 Comments

It’s been a tough few months putting the next version together, but now it finally seems we are finished. That means that we need translators to translate the English resource file. This time we hope for 30 different languages. So, if you want and know how to translate resource (.resx) files, please read on.

Right now we have the following languages translated:

  1. English (en)
  2. Danish (da)
  3. Chinese (zh-CN)
  4. Spanish (es)
  5. Vietnamese (vn)
  6. German (de)
  7. Arabic (ar)
  8. Swedish (sv)
  9. French (fr)
  10. Greek (el-GR)
  11. Dutch (nl)
  12. Slovak (sk)
  13. Persian (fa)
  14. Italian (it)
  15. Czech (cs)
  16. Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR)
  17. Russian (ru)
  18. Turkish (tr)
  19. Flemish (nl-BE)
  20. Finish (fi)
  21. Icelandic (is)
  22. Slovenian (si)
  23. Albanian (al)
  24. Norwegian (no)
  25. Thai (th)
  26. Bulgarian (bg)

As soon as we receive a new translation it will be appended to the above list immediately.

What to do

Just like last time we will credit every translator here on this website with his/hers name and a link to their website/blog of choice. If you can help, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the English resource file
  2. Translate it to your native language
  3. Test that it looks fine on your own installation
  4. Rename the translated file to e.g. labels.fr.resx for French
  5. Upload the translated file and remember to write your name and website

To reach the goal of releasing in September we will keep working on the code and make the final adjustments while it’s being translated. We have precisely one week so please help us as fast as you can. Thank you very much. We look forward to what we think will be the greatest version of BlogEngine.NET to date.

To exactly what flavor of Spanish have you translated it? The spanish talked in Spain and the spanish talked everywhere else are quite similar, but not exactly the same...

Using Opera 9.23 here and the download link doesn't work. If I press it you get labels.htm and the same with save target as. Just to give you a heads up Smile

I'm willing to translate BlogEngine.NET resources file into Italian. I'd like to point out that some messages displayed in version 1.1 are included in the code. In my opinion all the messages should be included in the resources file.

Best regards.

Dear Mads Kristensen,

Good to learn that ver 1.2 is due to be released; I am anxiously waiting for it.

I hope sufficient thinking has gone into upgrading the already exisiting users of BlogEngine.NET ver 1.1. I for instance, use ver 1.1 at http://www.hafayasir.com/ with the sql provider; thus a need for an sql scrip for the sql db.

Warm Regards
Abdulla Yasir

Yasir, the 1.2 is backwards compatible so it wont break your themes or anything. We also add a new SQL script to add the extra tables and columns to your database.
